We have an opportunity to serve at the Orange County Juvenile Hall on December 10th for their 35th Annual Christmas Outreach. On this day, the youth will be participating in a Christmas Pageant, but need help. A group of 60+ volunteers will enter the OC Juvenile Hall and split into groups designated for different wards of the facility. They will take with them scripts and minimal costumes for the kids to perform a Christmas Story Pageant. Volunteers may be partnered up with kids to stand near them and help them with their lines. After the pageant, volunteers will help set up tables for the kids to write Christmas cards for their mothers, help serve food, and so on. No special talents required.
In order to participate there is a mandatory orientation on the evening of November 11th. The juvenile hall is a lockdown facility, so the orientation involves bringing your ID for background check purposes. If you would like to volunteer for the December 10th event, you must also be able to attend this orientation, and you must register by November 5th.
