Junior High Ministry 2018-08-02T13:00:36+00:00

Our Jr. High ministry is dedicated to raising up youth in Christ. Our goal is for our students to move onto the next stage in their life knowing that age, gender, social or economic status, does not devalue God’s desire for them; that they are His and they can move mountains through Him who loves them. We desire that each of our students grow in their ability to love God, love each other, and to love their neighbor.

We are a community of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders dedicated to helping broken people bring other broken people to Jesus.

“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in life, in love and in purity.”  (1 Timothy 4:12)

Stay tuned for upcoming events.

Worship.

Our group of rad 6th-8th graders are from all over South County, including Dana Point, San Juan, and San Clemente. Each and every Sunday Morning, Junior Highers meet at 9:30AM at Shorecliffs Middle School. We meet up in big service, then break off during Family Business/Announcements.

Here students are given the opportunity to dig deeper and find out who God is to them and to discover their love for Him through this time of scripture reading, discussion, and prayer. We believe that worship is more than just a song. It is a lifelong discipline that involves dedicating everything you do and say to what Jesus has asked and commanded. We desire to create a safe place of authenticity, joy, and trust. We play games, tell stories, pray for one another, and open up God’s Word.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…” (James 4:8)

And plus, we have donuts and bagels!

Grow.

JH Youth Group meets every 2nd and 4th Monday night of every month from 7:00-8:30PM for intentional fellowship, worship, and prayer together. YG is a safe place for kids to have a ton of fun while meeting together in small groups to discuss biblical truths. We have a dedicated team of leaders that guide our discussion and worship through relevant topics to help get a better understanding of what it looks like to be dedicated to a life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Community.

Our Branches Students Ministries team value the idea of doing life together. Yes, we are a church, but our ministry does not stop after Sunday mornings. Church happens over ice cream, movie nights, and road trips. We as a team are recognized with the importance of relationships built outside of service times. We love to connect and build community by making ourselves available for spending quality time with the students in the area. We do one on ones, girl talk, bro time, going to games and shows as a sign of support, etc. We’ll give them a ride home just to spend a little extra time with them. It is in these spaces that trust is built. For a young person to have safe people they can go to if they have questions, if they need help, if they need advice, is so important.

If you are a parent, let us know of ways we can partner with you in this. We desire to walk alongside you and your family, through the seas of preteen life.

Serve.

Branches JH is partnered with several local and global outreach teams and organizations (see here) that are committed to making disciples of all nations by equipping them to reach the least, last, and lost. We focus on continuing relationships with La Roca Ministries (click here), our sister church La Red in El Salvador (here), Christian Surfers, and other local organizations within the San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, and San Clemente community. This is how we equip our middle-schoolers to be the hands and feet of God so that they can learn to love their neighbors.

“I heard the voice of the LORD, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for US?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”  (Isaiah 6:8)

Connect.

Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.

Billy Graham

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

C. S. Lewis
